Brijesh Mittal
Director (Planning), BHARAT BROADBAND NETWORK LIMITED (BBNL)

Brijesh Kumar Mittal is Director (Planning) at Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL) where he is currently steering the National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN) mission mode project of Govt. of India for connecting 250000 Gram Panchayats (Villages) across the country on Optical Fiber Cable and provide the Internet facility of the speed of 100 mbps to each GP under Digital India program. Mittal joined Indian Telecommunication Services Department of Telecommunications, Govt. of India in July 1981 and is a telecoms industry veteran with more than 34 years of experience in the field of telecommunications



Thomas Martin
Director of Principal Engineering, CALIX

Thomas has more than 20 years’ experience in Service Provider Access solutions, covering the SP markets in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa)/, Latin America and now on a global base.
Thomas focused early in his career on Broadband Access and Aggregation, starting with dial-up, xDSL and for the last 17 years with a special focus on Fiber Access, where he aids customers and partners with solution designs and consultancy.



Vipin Tyagi

Mr. Tyagi is an innovation and Business Leader from Information Technology and Telecommunication Industry for over 35 years.
He had founded and led a Company out of New Delhi for 12 years as Board Member and Global CEO. He has headed global business in India, Japan, Australia, USA and Europe. He has actively worked towards Research and Development of large systems, Organizational Development and creation of high performance teams. In October, 2009, Vipin decided to promote National level R&D and joined C-DOT.

Wes Oxlee

Wes Oxlee is currently Director of Business Development at CommScope Connectivity Solutions business unit of CommScope.
His cuurent focus is on providing innovative connectivity solutions for Wireline networks that serve the Wireless networks of today and the Network Convergence and Densification that will be necessary to serve the 5G networks of the near future.
Wes has 32 years of telecommunications industry experience with a primary focus on optical fibre external plant networks. Following a 16 year career with Telstra and NDC, where he was the National Technical Specialist for Fibre Optics External
Wes is a Certified Fibre To The Home professional and has been an integral part of CommScope’s team in NBN, Reliance & UFB as well as a wide number of FTTH projects throughout the world.




Kara Mullaley
Global FTTH Marketing Manager, CORNING

Kara Mullaley is the Global Fiber-to-the-Home Marketing Manager with Corning Optical Communications. Mullaley has 18 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, primarily supporting major network operators in the deployment of broadband networks worldwide.
Mullaley is a subject matter expert on best practice for fibre deployment, architecture, and solutions to address tough deployment challenges, including meeting rising bandwidth and application demands today. She has delivered technical sessions at various FTTx conferences and has also been published in several trade publications.
Based in Hickory, North Carolina, Mullaley graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering.

Kiran Solipuram

Kiran Solipuram has varied experience of eighteen (18) years with various Multinational Telecom operators and Internet Service Providers in Asia-Pacific, North America and Europe.
He is specialised in Presales, Consulting, Solution Architecting, Planning, Design, Installations, Configurations and Maintenance of Fixed Communications including Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTx), Hybrid Fibre Co-axial (HFC/CATV/DOCSIS 3.0), xDSL/Broadband/FTTN, Metro Ethernet (MEN), Internet Protocol Television (IPTV/CDN) technologies.
His broad spectrum in these technologies cover both outside and inside plants with passive (GPON/RFoG/P2MP) and active (Ethernet/P2P) infrastructure for Green & Brownfield architectures including centralized and distributed networks. Also, Kiran is a globally recognised industry specialist and his ground-breaking thought processes have been recognised throughout the world benefiting many global operators for their fixed communication’s projects and large programs.
Examples of Kiran’s solutions which have benefited the operators comprises of people, process, software/tools, technologies for FTTH, FTTP, FTTN, FTTC, FTTM and HFC/CATV/DOCSIS. 



Pratik Shah

Global Technical Marketing Director, DSM

Pratik Shah is Global Technical Marketing Director for the Fiber Optic Materials Group with DSM Functional Materials. He has a B.S. in Polymer Engineering from Pune University, MS in Plastics engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a M.B.A. degree from Anderson School of Management. He is a recipient of R&D 100 award. He is an (co)author of numerous publications and a named inventor on 6 U.S. patents.




Darryll Sinnappa

Managing Director, EDOTCO BANGLADESH

Darryll Sinnappa brings more than 22 years of diversified professional experience, primarily focused in the telecommunication and IT industries and further on, having general management experience in the construction and environmental industries. Prior to being Director of Sales & Marketing of edotco Group he worked as Managing Director of edotco Bangladesh and before that, at Axiata Berhad in Malaysia as the Commercial Head, in the Network Transformation SBU. In his capacity as MD of edotco Bangladesh he had successfully established a towerco operation entity in country and had built a successful tower infrastructure sharing business model with all mobile network operators as customers. He has been successful in driving some of the largest Cost Driving transformation initiatives, notably in Carrier Collaboration engagements, Right Cost Network (RCN) and Least Cost Network (LCN) initiatives, across the group whilst in Axiata.

His previous work experience includes, serving at Siemens in a number of offices globally, mainly based in Malaysia, Germany, South Africa and Singapore. He also served as CEO of Tritel Services, a CDMA operator in Sri Lanka and also served a number of years in UAE in construction.

Darryll has an Honors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Leicester, UK.



Juanita Clark
Co-Founder and CEO, FTTH COUNCIL AFRICA

With more than 20 years’ experience in the ICT industry, and having worked at multiple layers in the sector, Juanita Clark is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the FTTH Council Africa, based in South Africa.
The FTTH Council Africa is part of the international FTTH Council Global Alliance (FCGA) group representing more than 550 global stakeholders in the fibre optic industry, and giving the Africa chapter access to unlimited global resources, studies and expertise. The FTTH Council Africa works closely with industry and government alike, in an attempt to establish an efficient telecoms environment through the development of best practises, standards, policies and guidelines.



Heather Burnett Gold
President & CEO, FTTH COUNCIL AMERICAS

Heather Burnett Gold is the President and CEO of the FTTH (Fiber to the Home) Council Americas, a non-profit organization established to help its members plan, market, implement and manage fiber to the home solutions. Council membership includes entities that deliver services over direct fiber optic connections - as well as those involved in planning and building FTTH networks.



Munasir Choudhury
Director General, FTTH COUNCIL ASIA-PACIFIC

Hasan Munasir Choudhury has been involved in the ICT sector for over 12 years. He is a graduate of the City University of New York. Munasir started his career with Magnani Caruso Dutton, a creative agency in New York.
Soon after he joined Netcom Information Technology, a training institute in New York in 2003. He later joined the startup team of a WLL based GSM operator in Bangladesh.
In 2007, as Project Manager of Fiber@Home Bangladesh Ltd.; Munasir lead the deployment of the 1st GPON based FTTH Open Access Network in Bangladesh. Shortly after, LS Cable & Systems appointed him as their Country Representative for Telecommunication & FTTH business in Bangladesh.
In 2012 he joined the FTTH Council Asia-Pacific as General Manager. In January 2015 Munasir took over the role of Director General at the FTTH Council Asia-Pacific.

Christine Beylouni

Director General, FTTH COUNCIL MENA

Christine Beylouni is the Director General of FTTH Council Middle East and North Africa since 2011 and President of the FTTH Councils Global Alliance for 2015. She helped, since July 2011, increasing the strategic evolution, the member’s platform and the council’s portfolio in terms of technology, international relations and regulation in the MENA region and globally. In addition she contributed in the four committees’ development and deliverables especially training and related reporting.
Over the last years, she headed the strategic regional and international affairs within mobile operators and organizations and increased their international revenues by expanding their regional and global business through the development of international services such as international roaming, interconnection, etc. She also concluded several partnerships and agreements with technology and international solutions providers and associations worldwide with regards to international connectivity and general matters.
In addition, Christine handled the internal and external regulatory affairs and ensured the regulatory compliancy in terms of commercial & consumer affairs, numbering plan, spectrum & frequencies allocation.


Roland Montagne
Principal Analyst/ Director Market  Development, IDATE CONSULTING AND RESEARCH

Roland Montagne joined IDATE in 1998 and he is now Principle Analyst. In his position he is responsible of IDATE Consulting and Research activities covering Broadband / FTTx fields. Mr Montagne played a leading role in previous IDATE International studies. He has carried out several studies dealing with European Broadband roll out as annual Surveys on Broadband Access for the DGInfSo. Since 2004, Roland Montagne is leading FTTx works at IDATE and is also the project leader, twice a year, for the FTTH Council Europe European FTTH projects panorama (14th edition in 2016). He also achieved a major study for the French Government on scenarios for deploying Very High Broadband networks in France (cost model and Government options). Roland Montagne also carried out several strategic analyses focused on US and Asian developing FTTH markets. He has been involved on FTTH cost model analysis for the United Kingdom as well as best practice study looking at fibre indoor deployments as well as ducts sharing. Recently, He was also leading a study on the potential of NGPON technologies as well as maturity of active wholesale for developing FTTH markets. Since 2013, on yearly bases, Roland is conducting FTTH projects Panorama for Latin America FTTH Chapter (14 countries covered), FTTH Council APAC (14 countries studied/3rd edition), FTTH Council MENA (19 countries covered), and leading an annual worldwide FTTx watch service proposed by IDATE and covering more than 70 countries (7th edition). 



Dr. Abhishek Dixit
Associate Professor, INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Abhishek Dixit received the Ph.D. degree from Ghent University, Belgium, in 2014. He has worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium, from Dec. 2014 – June 2015 and as an Assistant Professor at IIT Mandi from July 2015 - Dec. 2015. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Delhi, India. He has been involved in various national and European research projects. He has served as a technical program committee member of networks on optical conference (NOC), and as a reviewer of many IEEE journals like Journal of Lightwave Technology, IEEE Network Magazine, etc. His research interests include optical access networks, radio over fiber technology, optical packet switched networks, mobile technologies, and Internet of Things.



Harinderpal Singh Grewal
Cluster Director, INFOCOMM DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

 

Prior to this, Harin headed the Next Generation Nationwide Broadband Network (Next Gen NBN) programme office at IDA. During his tenure, his team successfully conceptualised and awarded the Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to appoint the Network Company (NetCo) and Operating Company (OpCo) of Singapore’s Next Gen NBN. The Next Gen NBN is globally unique as its open-access model has been designed through a combination of structural and operational separation requirements set out by IDA.
In his 28 years at IDA, Harin has also led functions as diverse as Manpower Development and Wireless Mobility as well as being involved in Networking R&D for the first 8 years of his career.
Harin is an Electrical Engineer by training. His specialisations are in Wireless Telecommunications and Telecommunications Policy.



Ruchir Kanakia

Ruchir has over 5 years experience working across functions like Operations, Sales, Business Development, Account Management & Marketing with startups like Exotel & Instamojo. He leads Business & Operations at Instamojo (India's leading SME/SMB payments platform) which is trying to revolutionize the way small businesses use technology.





Dr Halim Shafie
Chairman, MALAYSIA COMMUNICATIONS AND MULTIMEDIA COMMISSION

Over the last 17 years, Dato’ Sri Dr Halim has served on many Boards, including Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Pos Malaysia Berhad, Multimedia Development Corporation Sdn Bhd and Telekom Malaysia Berhad. He is currently the Chairman of Malaysian Electronic Clearing Corporation Sdn Bhd (MyClear), a subsidiary of Bank Negara Malaysia.
Dato’ Sri Dr Halim also holds office as an Adjunct Professor of Universiti Utara Malaysia and Advisory Board Chairman of the National Library. He was also appointed a member of the Board of Advisors University-Industry University Teknologi Mara (MPUI-UiTM) in January 2014.






Sherry Singh
CEO, MAURITIUS TELECOM

Mr Manvendra (Sherry) SINGH is the Chief Executive Officer of Mauritius Telecom since February 2015.

He is an ICT and Marketing professional with a long career in Telecommunications and Marketing in the private sector, namely as the Marketing and Customer Service Manager in a well-established Mauritian telecom company. Mr Manvendra Singh also gained expertise from leading international companies such as Vodafone UK, Tele2 Sweden, Celltel Sri Lanka and Mobitel Cambodia.
In 2003, Mr Manvendra Singh started his own business and specialised in marketing and telecommunications services. He also held the position of Senior Advisor to the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance & Economic Development from July 2010 to July 2011. During the same period he was a board member of the State Investment Corporation, the Mauritius Duty Free Paradise and the State Land Development Company.




Hironori Tanada

Executive Manager, Access Network Division, Network Department Plant Headquarters, NTT WEST

Hironori Tanada has a long career of over 20 years in constructing networks in NTT WEST. He has worked in the "Access Network Service Systems Labratories" and also was a senior manager of Plant Department in a branch office in Japan, where he has acquired a lot of expertise in expanding FTTH network. He is now in a position of responsibility for FTTH access network deployment in
the whole service area of NTT WEST, and pursuing a consistent strategy for high-quality and competitive FTTH network.

 

Craig Price

Craig heads up the professional and consulting services team for HKT Global Development Services (“HKT GDS”) which is a division of PCCW Global which is an affiliate of HKT, and part of the PCCW Group.
HKT GDS’s mission is to take to the global market the expertise, applications and products developed by HKT (and the broader PCCW Group) for the highly competitive Hong Kong market.
Services include Engineering Services design, operate and build services, 3G/4G/5G consulting and migration services, WiFi, NOC, FTTx, OSS/BSS, OTT/IPTV, media and content services, smart applications, IoT services and products, Smart Cities, mobile commerce, e-services such as e-health and e-education, call center services, ICT solutions etc.



Guven Togan 

CEO, PCOM TECHNOLOGIES 

Guven Togan is electronic & communication engineer and has more than 25 years experience in manufacturing fiber optic cables, passive network materials, network design, project management for fiber networks including outside plant and customer premises connection for FTTH projects in several countries. Guven is Chief Executive Officer of PCOM Technologies and he is the chair of Technology & Standards Committee of FTTH APAC Council since 2015. He is the member of Education and Training Committee as well.




Wajeeh Anwer
EVP Tech North, PTCL

Presently I am working as Executive Vice President(Technical), head of Technical wing in Pakistan largest Telecommunication service provider company (PTCL) and is responsible for different Development Projects (CAPEX related) as well as O&M of different networks including 4G LTE wireless network, FTTC and FTTH Network, Transmission for backhaul over long distance as well as Metro links, Multimedia and Broadband services, Fiber cables deployment and maintenance, VSAT and IPTV networks.

Sh. R K Bahuguna is presently Chairman & Managing Director of RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. Being associated with RailTel for over 15 years now, he has many credits as the head of this organisation. It was his consistent efforts that RailTel was selected to be partner in various Govt. of India’s mission mode projects including National Knowledge Network (NKN), National Optical Fiber Network (NOFN) and USOF projects. Today RailTel is widely appreciated as one of the largest Telecom infrastructure player providing various Enterprise services in the country.

Dileep Agrawal

Founder, WORLDLINK COMMUNICATIONS
Dileep Agrawal founded and established Nepal’s largest Internet service provider (ISP) in 1995 while still attending Bates College in the US. Over the years, WorldLink has registered tremendous sustained growth and provides services ranging from Internet and data connectivity to cloud computing and managed enterprise services. WorldLink has grown to be not only the largest ISP in Nepal, but one of the largest IT services companies employing over 900 people throughout the country. Mr. Agrawal is in-charge of overall corporate management, strategy and business development. A recognized pioneer in Nepal’s IT industry, he regularly appears in national and international media.
